Adelaide Wine Barrels

I received my barrel on Wednesday, three days after placing my order. I filled the barrel with rain water and there was one leak. As viewed from the tap end, it was some where between 4 o'clock and 4.30 o'clock. It stopped leaking within 24 hours. I waxed that area to make sure it didn't leak. The barrel holds around 29 ltrs (fine by me). I emptied it today and filled it with Rum, (Molasses based) it will remain with this batch for 0ne to two years, as all my batches. I am going to make up a cradle so-as I can turn it with an electric motor twice a day. I will do this in the near future. The barrel looks good so here is to a good tasting rum in 1-2 years. 6.8L American Oak X Stainless Steel Barrel, very happy with my purchase. Already filled.

Ordered two barrels with two different designs, confirmation received almost immediately, was sent a draft for each one to check and ensure that it was as requested (both were perfect). Job completed and sent inside two business days. On arrival the barrels look awesome and are a great product. Could not recommend these guys enough.

Roll out the barrel and let's have a barrel of fun. Firing up the still today to fill the barrel up with a batch of bourbon. Having already mastered a quality brew using staves I am stepping up to the next level to mature my bourbon in a barrel. Fortunately, I already have enough bourbon stock to drink whilst I wait the suggested 37 weeks for full body maturity to occur. Cheers, I'll drink to that.

Only filled on the 1st of may. Filled it with water for two days then rinsed it out with boiling water. Didnt need to use the wax it has not leaked. I will sample it in 8 weeks time thank you
