I got the barrel for my dad as he was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and has taken up distilling as a past time as he can no longer work. He was going on and on about these barrels he saw on the internet but didn’t have the money to buy it for himself (cancer sucks), so I bought it for him as a present and it was the happiest I’ve seen him since before his diagnosis. On first impression there were HEAPS of leaks but we followed the instructions and it sealed up perfectly within the 4 days. It is a perfect size and looks so fancy sitting inside on display. Can’t wait to try his first lot of liquor! The joy this small barrel has given my dad in the worst time of our lives has been such a blessing. I needed a unique gift for a special occasion. The process was so smooth. There were four customisable sections which gave me a surprising amount of flexibility to be creative. I noticed a small typo after hitting submit but emailed the team who were very responsive and *immediately* corrected it before sending back a mock up for me to re-approve. I ordered this as a Barrel in my TV Room for some Port I had from circa 1967 which is now in the Barrel and is nice to have a small glass at the end of the evening after a full days work.

Bought a beautiful virgin oak barrel from Adelaide Wine Barrels for a wedding anniversary. Currently have the barrel swelling with water (no leaks so far) and very excited to get the tawny in, enjoy that intensely and then flavour some new-make whisky in a month or two. The 5L barrel is very cute, seems to be very well made (a few dints and scratches on the black bands but we think it adds to the character) and the little stand is sturdy and easy to assemble. Gorgeous little barrel.

We bought this NV tawny to flavour the oak and enjoy - sampled it the night it was delivered and we are very happy. The tawny is rich, fruity, warming and not sickly sweet. Keen to see how the flavour deepens with the oak.

So far so good as I'm seasoning this Barrel with some Sherry. Minor leak from the top was my fault for overfilling! It's a solid, beautifully finished barrel.
